Internet Provider and Webhosting
Does anyone have a recommendation for a domestic internet provider/webhosting.
My email isn't working today and apparently my ISP is having a meltdown of some kind. I just realized how dependent on this service I am and wondering if there is a bullet proof provider out there. |

You might want to have a couple of backup connections like:
Use your mobile phone as an internet modem. Use a satellite modem and satellite isp as backup (costly). |

Re: Internet Provider and Webhosting
We've had Comcast cable internet for several years now, since back when it was email@attbi.com, before I'd ever actually heard the name Comcast. Speeds are very fast (11,600 down, 1,100 up at last check) and my email which I've had since the beginning has basically never been down. So I use Comcast both for internet service and take advantage of their email, as well as one or two other "junk" email addresses for stupid web forms and such.
Contrasted with our work email provider, which is some small company, the email there has gone down numerous times for hours and/or days at a time... As much as I hate Comcast as a company, their internet is quick and the email is reliable... fairly expensive, though. I don't like any of the online email clients like Comcast's own or Yahoo's or Hotmail's, so I just use Mail on my iMac... used to use Outlook on my old Windows XP machine. |

My DSL with Verizon has been slower than **** the last few weeks. I am thinking of going back to cable (comcast). I had it in the past and it was lighting fast compared to DSL even when DSL is working properly.
